The University of Central Florida (UCF), College of Medicine is seeking applicants for an assistant, associate, or full professor clinical nutritionist for the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine. The successful applicant will be an outstanding expert to participate in the College of Medicine's role in nutrition-related student education, patient care and community outreach. This is a non-tenure track faculty position.
This position was established as part of a private foundation grant from the Martin Andersen-Gracia Andersen Foundation. The goals of the grant are to fund ongoing development and advancement of the medical student nutrition curriculum, nutrition education of patients in UCF academic clinics and community outreach for nutrition and wellness programs. For the instructional effort, the successful candidate will have a key role in devising, maintaining and teaching innovative coursework. The clinics will provide a setting for the nutritionist to render direct care as well as precept medical students during their rotations with patients. Another essential role of this hire is to provide nutritional advice to our local communities, which is one of the outreach wellness initiatives supported by our university. The candidate will work with faculty dedicated to proper nutrition and related research, sports-related dietary concerns, and the relationships between nutrition, inflammation and other disease entities.

Position Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in nutrition or equivalent degree from an accredited institution; at least three years of post-training experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics as a registered dietician; licensure (current or within one year of hire) as a registered dietician in the state of Florida to provide and bill for nutrition services; and experience teaching nutrition and related topics at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
Position Preferred Requirements:
The preferred candidate will have experience teaching nutrition and related topics at the medical school level; experience in applying for local or national extramural grants in support of nutrition education; and experience in rendering nutrition care in outpatient clinic settings with a focus on patients with diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, geriatric-related conditions and malnutrition.
