SEEKING APPLICATIONS AND NOMINATIONS FOR: Chief Informatics Officer, Johns Hopkins Children's Center, Department of Pediatrics of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine The Johns Hopkins Children’s Center has a century long tradition of delivering research-based, cutting-edge medicine for children throughout the world and has 17 clinical sites. With this leadership search, we seek a Chief Informatics Officer to facilitate our commitment to advancing pediatrics and international excellence through innovative scientific research, education, and clinical excellence. The Chief Informatics Officer will represent the needs and requirements of the professional staff and the hospital, serve as an advocate for the use of information technology and develop scholarly work in medical informatics. The Chief Informatics Officer (CIO) reports to the co-directors of the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, and is a key member of the senior management team. The CIO works in partnership with the JHM Chief Medical Informatics Officer, other informatics leaders, the JHM Epic Project Team, Nursing and other hospital leaders who use and rely on technology to provide safe and efficient patient care. The successful applicant will be charged with creating the vision for and leading the development of informatics in the Children’s Center and collaboration at other clinical sites in partnership with the JHM Chief Medical Informatics Officer. An institutional commitment to resources will support a new CIO who should also possess a strong passion for innovative leadership and a proven track record for scholarly advancements in informatics. Applicants should have experience in medical informatics and eligible for licensure in the State of Maryland. The academic appointment will be commensurate with the individual’s experience.
