RN Surgery Full Time Day Shift

Provides circulating and/or scrub nurse services in the operating room during surgical procedures and assists surgical team as needed in any other capacity, according to established procedures. Responsible for taking necessary precautions to decrease risk, and for the safety of patients. This role includes taking responsibility for communication among team members, traffic patterns in the OR suite, proper use of surgical attire, proper facilitation of personnel and supplies in, through and out of the unrestricted, semi-restricted and restricted areas of the OR. Maintaining storage requirements, sterile technique, smoke evacuation, and overseeing scrub tech duties. Other unit responsibilities may include participation in performance improvement, clinical education, staff meetings and record keeping. Maintains competencies. Overseen by the Manager of the Operating Room. Reports directly to the Perioperative Services Director.

Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the OR. Has knowledge of growth and development over the life span. Speaks, reads and writes English.

• Minimum of one yearsâ�� experience in an acute care operating room or two years in an outpatient operating room preferred
• Current CA RN licensure
• American Heart Association BLS
• CNOR preferred
