This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more The incumbent is a professional nurse with a broad-based clinical background who demonstrates a high level of clinical and leadership skills and competent in conducting and reporting performance improvement indicators. The Nurse Manager is a professional registered nurse who holds twenty-four hour accountability for the management of one or more defined areas of organized nursing services or resident care units within the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS). The incumbent is an experienced nursing manager who functions under the direction and guidance of the Chief Nurse for the clinical area to provide clinical and administrative leadership. He/she uses the administrative process to achieve identified performance measures for the VAMHCS. As a nursing leader, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of Nursing Clinical Practice and Nursing Operations within their defined areas of responsibility. He/she facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to high quality, cost effective and person-centered care.
