This announcement is meant to fill multiple vacancies within Nursing Service. The Nursing Assistant position is located at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital in Bedford, MA. Nursing Assistants will be required to perform basic nursing duties under close supervision in a variety of health care settings such as outpatient, inpatient, home or community living care, acute, and sub-acute. The NA will care for patients/residents with acute and chronic conditions. communicates with patients/residents, families, and interdisciplinary team; actively practices the principles of universal precautions; collaborates with peers in completing unit workload; de-escalates patient threats to self and other, restraining patient as needed; recognizes and reacts to emergent patient/resident care situations; shifts priorities based on patient needs; documents patient information/progress and/or response to treatments in electronic medical record; performs clinical procedures, records vital signs, utilizes equipment, materials and supplies in diagnostic and treatment procedures; and provides nursing care, assisting patients with self-care and aids in maintain physical and social activity and independence; Work Schedule: The work schedule will be determined based on the needs of the Medical Center. The New England VA Medical Centers are acute care facilities operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week. While most tours of duty are scheduled during the day, the possibility of working evenings, nights and weekends to exist.
