A recruitment/relocation incentive is not authorized for this position. 6CN is a 17-bed medical/surgical/telemetry unit. Care is provided to the Veteran population that has a vast variety of medical issues or has undergone a recent general surgical procedure. Telemetry, if indicated, can be provided to any patient housed on the unit. Major Duties of a Nursing Assistant on 6CN: Providing direct patient care which includes obtaining and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and other required data. Reporting of abnormal values or a change in the patient's condition. Following the plan of care by providing appropriate level of assistance with activities of daily living to include bathing, feeding, grooming, and mobilizing with demonstration of skills which reflect the needs of the adult population. Monitor patients who require close observation. Appropriate support duties, i.e., individualized patient care, proper implantation of policies and procedures, use of proper body mechanics, including use of assistive devices, and operation of specialized functional equipment. Collect and properly label patient specimens. Timely response to patient call lights and patient needs. Treat patients and visitors with respect. Uphold principles of a healthy work environment. Performs glucometer testing. Support duties for proper environmental maintenance such as identification of potential safety hazards, stocking of supplies, checking expiration dates of supplies, and inventory patient belongings, etc. Work Schedule: Full Time (1.0) PM Shift (3:30pm-Midnight) Weekend and Holiday Rotations Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
