The role you’ll contribute:
The Trauma Program Coordinator has the authority to manage the Trauma program throughout the continuum of care and across multidisciplinary lines of service. This includes utilization of the facility’s Staff Performance Improvement Plan with any individual in need of remediation relating to the care of trauma patients. The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that AdventHealth Central Texas (AHCT) remains in compliance with all regulatory requirements to maintain Trauma Facility Designation. The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality and safe care is delivered to our patients.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Manage the trauma program, specifically to ensure implementation of the PI plan and ensure loop closure.
- Review care delivered to trauma patients and identify care issues and/or processes for improvement as indicated by DSHS Basic (Level IV) Trauma Facility Audit Filters
- Identify staff learning needs and collaborate with Nursing Education Department to develop educational activities related to trauma care.
- Collaborate with other clinical departments to develop processes that enhance patient care and throughput throughout the continuum of care.
- Ensure accurate and timely record input to the Trauma Registry. Data shall be forwarded to the state trauma registry on at least a quarterly basis
- Represent the Trauma program on specific hospital committees: Trauma Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Medical Peer Review Committee, Emergency Management Committee, Clinical Leadership Committee.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, or Trauma nursing
- Current Texas or multi-state Compact RN license
- ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC/ATCN
