The role you’ll contribute:
The Manager has 24-hour accountability, authority and responsibility for quality of services, operational management and human resource management for the Surgery Center. The Manager fosters the integration of the organization’s vision and values, and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan through an accountable work team. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Manager collaborates with patients/customers, families, physicians, administration and associates to meet customer needs and expectations in a patient focused and healing environment.
The Manager demonstrates leadership skills in assuring that appropriate care is carried out for specific patient population(s). The Manager is responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and all members of the health care team. The Manager is responsible for establishing the tone of the work environment and ensuring that all personnel are competent, adhere to all policies of the department and organization and adhere to all behavior standards of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Health.

In collaboration with the Director:
- Develop, implement and evaluate policies, standards of practice and programs that support the department.
- Analyze and monitor compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrate expertise in planning resources to respond to financial goals of the organization.
- Create and manage operating and capital budgets to provide for departmental needs.
- Initiate activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment.
- Encourage staff to participate in shared decision making by working on committees and/or providing input to committee representatives.
- Foster team collaboration and cooperation through shared decision making.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Minimum qualifications:
- Operating Room experience
- Strong communication and Critical Thinking
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- At least 1 year of Operating Room Position-Related Experience
- Kansas Registered Nurse License
- BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
- Full supervisory responsibility for direct reports and the department
- Preferred qualifications:
- ACLS, PALS
- CNOR
- Master's Degree
- 3 years of Position-Related Experience
