AdventHealth will bring a 60-acre health and wellness campus to Lake Nona in late 2026. This location will offer medical innovations on a campus designed around whole person health with comprehensive services, destination lifestyle programs, and much more that will shape the next generation of health care.
We are proud to be a part of the growing Lake Nona community with an established comprehensive network of care. Our services include emergency services, urgent care, a wide range of medical specialists (including primary care), lab, imaging, orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation.
Serves as a resource for clinical inquiry process, including identification of potential projects, and/or subject matter expertise. Demonstrates a “spirit of inquiry” to support professional curiosity including research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives using the organization’s preferred structure, i.e. PDSA (plan, do, study, act).
Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department using the ANPD standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation with the NPD Practice model using inputs, throughputs, and outcomes to ensure a systematic approach to onboarding orientation.
Adjusts implementation strategies as needed based on the learner’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language, and cultural preferences.
Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates activities related to training of new graduates, experienced nurses, and ancillary staff new to the unit/department based on collection of data that is used systematically and purposefully to ensure relevant and evidence-based learning for each clinician.
Develop/coordinates education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation. Activities include coaching of new nurses, facilitation of learning, using simulation, and tools that capture objective and subjective data about the individual’s knowledge base and actual performance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Working knowledge of word processing, data management, email, and presentation applications. [Required]
• Effective professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills. [Required]
• Knowledge of the American Nurses Association (ANA)/Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) scope and standards for Nursing Professional Development [Required]
• Self-directed, creative, and demonstrates initiative to fulfill the seven roles of the NPD practitioner: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for the NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions. [Preferred]
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, OSHA) for professional specialty served. [Preferred]
Education:
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
• Master's [Preferred]
Work Experience:
• 2+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting [Required]
• Experience in specialty area applying for [Preferred]
• Experience as preceptor [Preferred]
• Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings [Preferred]
• 1+ years of experience as an NPD Practitioner [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
